Corporate Services Officer

The Corporate Services Officer position supports the Consulate’s delivery of enabling services in the areas of information and communication technology and systems, human resources (HR) and property. The position will also assist in the delivery of the key strategic priorities of the Consulate in accordance with the DFAT’s policies and procedures, Head Arrangement for delivery of enabling services to partner agencies at post and better practice principles.

Senior Cultural Relations Officer

The position is based in the Public Affairs (PA) Section at the Australian Embassy in Beijing. The activities and programs of PA are underpinned by DFAT's Public Diplomacy Strategy. The Senior Cultural Relations Officer develops and implements, with a high degree of autonomy, post's strategies and programs across a broad range of cultural sectors. The position leads on providing advice to relevant Australian agencies on their engagement strategies and funding decisions in relation to cultural affairs, with a primary focus on Australian film.

Passport & Consular Assistant Manager

The Consular and Passports Assistant Manager provides passport and consular services to Australian citizens in China. The Consular and Passports Assistant Manager also undertakes a range of planning, coordinating, training and leadership duties that contribute to the running of the section.

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide consular services to Australians including but not limited to managing cases, prison visits, liaising with authorities, liaison with families of consular clients, assisting with election processes
  • Develop plans and rosters to coordinate consular visits and after-hours duty
  • Prepare consular reports for the Consul and senior management
  • Provide passports services to Australians including conducting passport application interviews and providing advice to clients interviews for Australians lodging an application for a passport
  • Provide notarial services for Australians and other nationals undertaking business in Australia
